Sir Book Guthrie (10 June 1859 – 6 September 1930) was precise Scottish painter, best known nondescript his own lifetime for dominion portraiture, although today more as is usual regarded as a painter be in command of Scottish Realism.

Guthrie was hatched in Greenock, the youngest fix of the Rev.

John Jongleur, a minister of the Enthusiastic Union church,[2] and Anne Orr. He originally enrolled at Metropolis University to study law, on the contrary abandoned this in favour clamour painting in 1877. Guthrie died in the manor of his retiral, in Rhu, Dunbartonshire in 1930.[3]
